NTP auto time synchronization works by connecting to dedicated NTP servers, allowing devices to automatically sync to standard time. Choosing the right server address is key to achieving accurate time synchronization.

What is NTP auto time synchronization?

NTP stands for Network Time Protocol. Its core purpose is to "calibrate time for devices." Just as we check our watches against a reliable time source, devices also need a "standard time source" — and an NTP server provides exactly that. It obtains highly accurate time signals from atomic clocks, GPS, and other sources, then transmits accurate time to your devices over the network.

Once NTP auto time synchronization is enabled, devices periodically communicate with the server to automatically adjust their own time. Without any manual intervention, your devices stay accurate down to the millisecond.

Reliable NTP server addresses (domestic + international)

Domestic servers: low latency, high stability (recommended)

Domestic servers are closer to local networks, offering faster sync speeds and fewer interruptions — suitable for most users:

National Time Service Center (authoritative): ntp.ntsc.ac.cn, cn.ntp.org.cn — operated by the official national authority, offering the highest accuracy. Ideal for time-sensitive applications such as servers and financial devices.

Alibaba Cloud Public NTP: ntp.aliyun.com, ntp1.aliyun.com (through ntp7.aliyun.com) — multiple nodes with wide coverage. Highly stable for everyday PCs and routers. No registration required.

Tencent Cloud Public NTP: ntp.tencent.com, ntp1.tencent.com — similar to Alibaba Cloud, suitable for daily office devices, mini-program servers, and more, with strong compatibility.

Huawei Cloud Public NTP: ntp.huaweicloud.com — stable and reliable, recommended for users in the Huawei ecosystem or using Huawei servers and devices.

International servers: suitable for cross-border devices or special needs

If your devices are overseas or domestic servers are not accessible, you may consider the following international nodes (note: latency may be slightly higher):

Google Public NTP: time.google.com, ntp1.google.com (through ntp4.google.com) — global nodes with fast sync speeds, supporting both IPv4 and IPv6.

Apple Public NTP: time.apple.com — ideal for Apple devices (Mac, iPhone) or Apple ecosystem setups, offering good compatibility.

International Standard NTP: pool.ntp.org (automatically connects to the nearest node) — a volunteer-maintained global public server cluster. By using this address, your device will automatically connect to the nearest node — convenient and hassle-free.
