500px is a photography community focused on high-quality images. It's curated and algorithm-driven, with an emphasis on professional and semi-professional work. Photographers upload portfolios, and the site surfaces the best images through its Discover feed, which is tuned to show visually striking work. The community votes on photos, and the most-liked images get featured prominently. It's a good place to see what's possible with a camera and to get inspiration for your own work.

The platform also offers licensing options, so photographers can sell usage rights to their images. There's a free tier for browsing and uploading a limited number of photos, and paid plans for serious photographers who want more storage and exposure. It's not as community-driven as Flickr, but the quality bar is higher and the interface is cleaner.
