Overview
Google Cloud Storage (GCS) is a scalable, secure, and high-performance object storage service offered by Google Cloud. It supports storing and retrieving any type of data, such as documents, images, and videos. GCS provides multiple storage classes (Standard, Nearline, Coldline, and Archive) to optimize cost and access performance, with features like global redundancy, strong consistency, and seamless integration with other Google Cloud services (e.g., BigQuery, AI/ML tools).It is suitable for data lakes, backups, content distribution, and cloud-based analytics, with support for fine-grained access controls, encryption, and lifecycle management policies.
New Google Cloud users receive a 90-day free trial with access to a limited set of Cloud Storage resources, including: 5 GB of regional storage per month (US regions only), 5,000 Class A operations per month, 50,000 Class B operations per month, and 100 GB of egress data transfer from North America to all region destinations (excluding China and Australia) per month.
