Is anyone else like me, always looking for a reliable permanently free VPS cloud server? I've been wanting to set up a small test site lately, occasionally running some simple programs. With a limited budget, I don't want to spend money on a paid server, so I'm hoping to find a free one to start with.I've come across quite a few that claim to be "permanently free," but when I clicked in, they either offered a trial period of 7 or 15 days and then forced you to upgrade to a paid plan or shut down your server; or the configuration was ridiculously low — 1 core, 512MB RAM — so even opening a webpage would lag badly, and the bandwidth was throttled, making it take half an hour to upload a small file. Even worse, some required linking a bunch of personal information, popped up ads without permission, and I even worried about data security, so I stopped using them after just two days.
I really want to find a genuinely permanently free Chinese VPS that meets basic requirements (like 1 core, 1GB RAM, 10GB storage, and basic bandwidth), is stable enough not to crash randomly, doesn't force me to watch ads, and doesn't leak my information. Since it's based in China, the access speed should be guaranteed, unlike foreign free servers with high latency.
Has anyone used a reliable one and can share their experience? Or if you've fallen into any traps, please share them too, so others can avoid being scammed! If there is a real usable platform, please leave a link or the name! Also, I'd like to discuss with everyone: does China really have a truly permanently free VPS?
