Overview
Upyun Alliance is a program launched by Upyun for individual webmasters and student developers. After submitting your website information and passing review, you can receive 10GB free cdn traffic + 10GB free cloud storage every month. For personal blogs, this quota is basically enough, equivalent to zero-cost acceleration.
In 2026, Upyun Alliance's policy has been adjusted, and the application process is now simpler. I just successfully applied for my own blog last week, so I've organized the steps for everyone's reference.
I. What Is Upyun Alliance?
Simply put, it is a free package from Upyun. Individual developers place the Upyun logo and link at the bottom of their website, and they can receive 10GB CDN traffic and 10GB storage space every month.
What does 10GB of traffic mean? For a typical personal blog, with each article using around 100KB of image resources, 10GB per month can roughly support 100,000 visits. For the vast majority of personal websites, this is completely sufficient.
Application requirements:
- You need a domain that has already completed ICP filing
- Website content must be legal (no violating content)
- The Upyun logo and link must be added at the bottom of the website
II. Register an Upyun Account
The first step is to register an Upyun account.

Visit the Upyun official website and click Register in the upper right corner. Fill in your phone number, verification code, and set a password. After registration, remember to complete real-name verification. Upyun requires uploading a photo of your ID card and a face scan, which takes about two or three minutes.
Real-name verification is required to use CDN services and to apply for the alliance.
III. Create a CDN Service
Log in to the Upyun backend and find the "CDN" service in the left menu. Click "Create Service."
For the service name, you can enter your domain (such as baike300). For the acceleration region, choose "Domestic," because a filed domain mainly serves Chinese users. Choose the business type according to your website type. For an ordinary blog, choose "Static Cloud." If it is a download site or video site, choose the corresponding option.
After creation is complete, enter your domain. Enter the website domain you want to accelerate here; no need to include http or https.
Then configure the CNAME. Upyun will give you a CNAME address. Go to your domain DNS management backend (such as Alibaba Cloud DNS or Cloudflare), add a CNAME record, and point your domain to Upyun's CNAME address. This configuration takes some time to take effect, usually 10 to 30 minutes.
Finally, upload the SSL certificate. If your website uses https, you need to upload your SSL certificate to Upyun. Upyun also provides a free Let's Encrypt certificate, which can be applied for with one click and is quite convenient.
IV. Apply for Upyun Alliance
Once the CDN service is configured, you can apply for the alliance.
Search for "Alliance" in the Upyun backend or find the entry directly on the homepage. Enter the alliance application page, where you need to fill in website information: website name, website address, website introduction, website type, etc. Fill these in according to the actual situation.
When applying, you need to upload two screenshots: one showing your website's indexing status on Baidu/Google, and another showing that the Upyun logo and link have been added at the bottom of your website. The code for adding the logo at the bottom of the website is provided on the alliance application page. Just copy and paste it into your website's footer file.
After submitting the application, you will receive a review result notification in about two or three working days. Once approved, 10GB CDN traffic vouchers and 10GB storage vouchers will be automatically issued every month, which can be seen on the My Packages page.
V. Points to Note
ICP filing is mandatory. Upyun CDN acceleration in China requires the domain to be filed. If your domain is not filed, you can consider using Upyun's overseas nodes or the Cloudflare free version.
HTTPS incurs additional request fees. CDN traffic vouchers only offset traffic; HTTPS request fees are not included. The request fee is very cheap, about 0.05 CNY per 10,000 requests. For an ordinary blog with a few thousand requests per day, it's only a few cents per month.
The alliance logo must be retained. After approval, the Upyun logo at the bottom of your website cannot be removed, otherwise vouchers may not be issued the following month.
Storage vouchers can be used to store images. The 10GB storage space can be used to store website images and static files. Using Upyun's object storage together with CDN makes image loading faster.
VI. Actual Test Results
After using Upyun CDN on my own blog, taking Beijing Telecom as an example, the website opening speed dropped from an average of 800ms to around 200ms. The improvement is especially obvious on pages with many images.
If your website mainly serves domestic users and your domain has been filed, Upyun Alliance is a highly cost-effective choice. Tens of thousands of visits basically cost nothing.
